The four museums of Salling Museum

Museum Salling consists of four museums: Spøttrup Borg, Skive Art Museum, Fur Museum and Glyngøre Culture Station. Here you can immerse yourself in inspiring art, discover 55 million year old fossils, visit one of Denmark’s best preserved medieval castles or learn more about the fjord in Glyngøre. We look forward to welcoming you to our four exhibition venues for great experiences and exciting events.

Spøttrup Borg is the closest thing to a real medieval castle in Denmark. Surrounded by mighty ramparts, it is beautifully situated in the countryside, right by Spøttrup Lake. The strong defenses of the bridge have kept out enemies over the centuries and the castle has never been taken.

The castle has beautiful gardens inspired by the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, including a magnificent herb garden with over 250 plants. Throughout the year the castle hosts many events: guided tours, holiday activities, markets, history plays and much more.

Admission: Adults 95 DKK. Children under 18 years are free.

Skive Art Museum is an art museum. It has an important collection of Danish art from the middle of the 19th century to the present day. Century to the present day. Two special areas of the collection are New Realism and expressive landscape painting.

The museum alternates between exhibitions of works from its own collection and special exhibitions. Throughout the year there are numerous events: presentations, guided tours, holiday activities and much more.

Admission: Adults 90 DKK. Children under 18 years are free.

A museum full of experiences! At Fur Museum you can experience the past in a number of exhibitions. In addition to world-class fossils, you can discover the history of prehistoric supervolcanoes, the island’s landscapes and subsoil, and life on Fur over the centuries.

On the southwest coast of the island you can explore the shipping port of Fur. In a restored cage house, Fur Museum has set up an external exhibition that tells the history of the harbor and the closure of the Limfjord fishery. There are many events throughout the year: guided tours, lectures, holiday activities, fossil hunting, history games and much more.

Admission: Adults 80 DKK. Children under 18 years are free.

Glyngøre is where the sea meets the land! At Glyngøre Culture Station you can experience how the fjord has influenced people in every way from ancient times to the present day. It has shaped the landscape and influenced industry and the development of the entire area.

The Culture Station also has a number of strong traditions. Every year we open a new exhibition by the light of the St. Hans fire and in December you can experience the twilight, where every day a “secret” person comes and tells a cozy twilight story for children and adults.

Admission: Adults 60 DKK. Children under 18 years are free.
