Season opening 2024 at Museum Salling

Fur Museum

On March 23rd we open the doors to Fur Museum for the first time this year, kicking off the 2024 season. We look forward to welcoming you to both new and familiar experiences. As the museum opens for Easter, from March 23rd we’ll be holding a little competition where guests can hunt around the museum and find the Easter chicks that have been hiding in the exhibitions.

The museum’s new 2022 Welcome Building is once again ready to welcome all our guests and offers a lot of new and exciting items for both young and old. We’ve also brought out the microscopes so you can take a closer look at your own fossils.

It is also in the new welcome building that our guests can be inspired to go further out on the island and see some of the amazing places Fur has to offer. Through interactive installations and “good advice” from the museum’s experts, selected places on Fur’s nature and history are communicated. With the “Gateway to Fur” app, visitors can take a digital guide around the island and get even more exciting experiences and knowledge in their own pocket.

The season also features the new special exhibition “The Fossils Tell”, which we have created in collaboration with the Natural History Museum Aarhus and the Fossil and Molar Museum on Mors. In the exhibition you can get up close to the finest specimens of ancient insects, which can now be found in the molar as extremely well-preserved fossils, where you can see every single wing rib or leg.

Please note that the ferry to Fur is free from 22/3 through 11/4.

Spøttrup Castle

After a long winter, we are finally opening the doors to a new season at Spøttrup Borg. We open on March 23rd and from March 25th we will host the first activity of the year. At Spøttrup Borg, Easter is all about eggs, so our guests can try coloring eggs, making eggs with tissue paper and go on a fun egg hunt in the castle and garden.

In addition, throughout the season you can explore the castle and herb garden with the help of the “Explore Spøttrup Castle” booklet, which contains various fun activities such as: Color your own coat of arms, find 5 mistakes, quiz etc. Throughout the season, we will continuously organize exciting and fun activities for the whole family, so remember to follow our website.

Skive Museum

Skive Museum is open all year round and offers a lot of exciting activities throughout 2024. During Easter, children can hunt for Easter eggs in our exhibitions from March 23 through April 1, and from March 25, we’ll be cutting the Easter eggs, where all guests are welcome to participate. During this time you can experience the museum’s exciting exhibitions. This is the last chance to experience Peter Callesen’s exhibition ON DEEP WATER, and you can see our latest exhibition “Spring” as well as our other exhibitions.

This summer, we will open a retrospective exhibition with works by visual artist Bjarke Regn Svendsen, who is a photorealistic artist. Everything that is overlooked in the world around us is given stubborn attention and space on the canvas by Regn Svendsen. The exhibition also invites you as a guest to go out and experience your city of Skive with Bjarke Regn Svendsen’s gaze in a photo competition.

Glyngøre Culture Station

Glyngøre Culture Station will open its doors for the first time on March 24 for the opening of the new Easter/Spring exhibition with local artist Marianne Thomsen. The exhibition will be open on selected dates during the spring, as the new season at Glyngøre Culture Station does not really get underway until June 25. Stop by Glyngøre Culture Station during the season if you want to learn more about the fjord, fishing, local history and not least Jonas Vingegaard.
